Isaac Atkins graduated from Maine College of Art with a BFA in Painting. He has two original pieces permanently hanging in the Preble Street Lighthouse Shelter and currently resides in Portland, Maine.
Atkins is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work is primarily in the mediums of figurative painting, costume design, and textiles. His artwork seeks to convey the vividness of a child's imagination and how it influences our interpretation of art as adults. Much of his work incorporates glamour, nostalgia, and queerness while paying homage to an interest in paper dolls. Currently, Atkins is working with unfinished doll figurines and damaged silkscreens that belonged to his deceased mother.
